The new fad for internet marketing has become Facebook in large part because everyone is on the platform, and the inexpensive cost of the ads. You can run ads in your local area about your business or product offering and have it in front of thousands of people within a day or two. Certain types of businesses this works great for, and some it does not. For example, if you have a store front or physical location, it is a great way to advertise your business and location to all surrounding people/consumers in your local area. You can easily put the awareness out there about your store, product, or service in your general area.
Since it is social platform, practically everyone uses it everyday and will be scrolling through their newsfeed. When you run a local ad, all of these users will see it pop up in their newsfeed whether they are searching for your services or not, which makes it a great digital billboard. That is the difference between a highly intent google search and....
Facebook ads in general. When someone is searching for a local service on google, their intent is high, so the lead quality is usually better. Whereas, with Facebook, the user sees your ad, and then if they have been thinking about getting service similar to yours, they will click on it and submit their info. Now, the landing page that the leads end up on is another animal altogether. It must be a lead capture page only, so as to ask for their contact information in exchange for something. I.E. a 10% discount, free email coupon, limited time offer, etc..
Examples of Businesses where Facebook ads work Fantastic:
1) Remodeling Contractors
3) Mortgage Loan Officers
And....many more, but it works for a lot of business niches and service offerings. In general, if you are trying to create awareness in your local area for your business, running facebook ads is a great way to get interest quickly because of the sheer volume of users. Sometimes the lead quality can be a little lower than search engine leads only because the consumer wasn't searching for your service directly on Facebook, but it is an excellent way to bring in new leads and business for you.
Another great attribute of running Facebook ads for your business is the audience targeting that you have access too. When you run an ad in Facebook, you can literally whittle down your audience to exactly who you want to reach with variables such as age range, income level, interests, behaviors, zip codes, and a lot more. So this way, you aren't wasting your precious ad dollars on people who are not likely to buy from you. For example, a Realtor wouldn't want to be running ads to 15 year old males in their area because they would never be their client.
All in all, we have ran very successful Facebook ad campaigns for a variety of businesses. They work great if you have a nice offer, coupon, or discount for signing up today. The landing page needs to convert well also, so there is a learning curve on how to capture the leads that click on your ad.
